Workshops & Courses

In the courses and workshops, teenagers and young adults with and without a refugee or migrant background can come together, try things out, experiment and grow: Here, experiences become lyrics, thoughts become melodies, a whim becomes an entire choreography. Experienced artists support young people in discovering artistic tools and allowing them to express their personality.

BEST PRACTICE: EACH ONE TEACH ONE

Hajusom's programs for young refugees have been recognized as a best practice model. They aim to empower the participants and work according to the emancipatory principle of Each One Teach One. The members of the Hajusom ensemble, who have many years of experience, act as bridges for the newcomers: as interpreters, as leaders of the junior groups and as bearers of the Hajusom spirit of solidarity - a long-term, intergenerational concept of community and continuity.

Chto Delat (What Is to Be Done?) is an international collective founded in St. Petersburg in 2003 by artists, philosophers, critics, and writers. Chto Delat's practice is grounded in collective, interdisciplinary, and non-academic research, developed in close collaboration with social movements, educational institutions, and art organizations, including long-term partnerships in Hamburg.  Since its forced emigration in September 2022, Chto Delat has run the School of Emergencies, The urgency of the school was created by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, uprising in Belarus and waves of political refugees from Russia, after growing fascisization of Russian politics. The school fellows together with mentors and invited teachers try to find a new artistic language which are capable of grasping the situation of more and more absurd world. HELLO: Hajusom Radio LAB with Hello: Radio

Hello: Hajusom Radio LAB

Together with the HELLO: Radio we explore the possibilities of broadcasting: What do I want to hear and what do I want to say? What do the people from my environment or from my neighborhood say? What sounds can we record on the street and what music goes with them?

We conduct interviews, produce small podcasts, go out on the street and make sound recordings, learning about audio technology and how producing and hosting a radio show works.

Finally, we go on air together, which is then broadcast on halloradio.net

The workshops are aimed in particular at young people with a history of migration and require no prior knowledge, just curiosity and an interest in radio.

The first episode of the radio project HELLO Hajusom provides a lively insight into the diverse voices of the children from the PARKS children's program in Hammerbrook. Jasper talks to Matida about her very personal experiences with neighborhood and living together in the district. Kathi and Thea also present their favorite songs on the topic. The episode invites you to listen more closely to how children and adults perceive their surroundings - and perhaps to take a fresh look at your own neighborhood. Here's the link to the first episode: HELLO NEIGHBOURHOOD

How can hip-hop become a space for new voices, bodies, and perspectives? In this feature, artist Elena Victoria Pastor invites you behind the scenes of Reclaim the Stage, a workshop series that brought together dance, performance, and sound to explore self-expression beyond stereotypes. Through interviews with facilitators, the podcast documents the creative process, discoveries, and collective energy that shaped this journey. Concept: Elena Victoria Pastor, Interviews (in order of appearance): JC Hernández, Laura Stefanidis, Oskar Minich, and Mohadeseh Salehinasab, Music piece: "Wann" created and performed by Mohadeseh Salehinasab, Production & Sound Engineering: Oskar Minich, Mentorship: Elena Victoria Pastor. Under the direction of Jajaja Iris Minich and Arvild Baud, members of the Hajusom ensemble work together with external artists on innovative approaches that artistically address migration, interculture, transculturality and globalization.

The ENSEMBLE LAB focuses on collective work processes: dance, theater, music and visual arts merge to create aesthetically sophisticated and socially relevant performances. Klassenreise Festival

Aktionen zu sozialer Herkunft

What's classy if you´re rich, what's trashy if you´re poor?

Hallo: Hajusom Radio

Radio LAB
